Galleries
Photo albums on the taxonomy spine. One image is a one-photo album. Canonical URL is /galleries/{topic}/{slug}.
An album
- A title, a required topic from the catalog, and an optional description (markdown). Extra tags are optional and do not appear in the URL.
- Add photos by upload (JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF; 20 MB each) or by URL — the server fetches and stores a copy (private networks are blocked). Chat pictures (
/img/chat/…or this origin’s chat image URL) are copied from disk, so lab hosts likehttp://vaj:3010/img/chat/…work. - Each image can have a caption. Share copies the album link. A photo’s own URL is
/galleries/{topic}/{album}/{photo}.jpg(slug from caption or filename). Changing the topic or slug 301s the old path.
Who can do what
- Create: any signed-in member (gallery in the viewer set). Mods: gallery LDAP mods or a mod of any other kind; they can edit/delete any album and lock visibility.
- Edit: the author or gallery mods. The last image on a published album cannot be removed.
Who can see it
- Public — everyone, signed in or not.
- Members — anyone signed in on this origin. Guests get a login prompt.
- Unpublished — you and the kind’s mods. Guests get a plain 404, so nothing leaks.
- New items default to public. You can change it any time unless a mod locks it.
