A new synthetic drug is killing more than gun crime, homicide and car accidents combined. 100 times stronger than heroin, the deadly opioid fentanyl is cheap, potent and small enough to send in the post (from China via the dark web).
These market forces have seen it replacing the heroin supply, spreading unprecedented death, destruction and misery. And, like all epidemics, it is spreading fast. The death toll has disproportionately affected the homeless and marginalised. And now, due to its strength and low cost, the drug is also starting to appear in party drugs, such as cocaine and cannabis – with fatal results.

I have an associate who ended up dying of a Fentanyl overdose. People say it's a disease, too - but this guy threw away a wife and kids and a job, for what started as a pipe dream "sex, drugs and rock n roll" fantasy, that eventually led to him being a total junkie loser who died alone and worthless and forgotten... Thanks Kurt Cobain! jk jk jk

It's okay - he was kind of an
It's okay - he was kind of an asshole... I never fully liked him, but he did provide sincere support to me as a friend over the years, that cannot be faked. But his story is one also of what people call "mid-life crisis". He had matured and made it past his sordid rock/punk past, but when mid-life hit, he felt unfulfilled and bored with his life, and somehow "regressed" back to his early 20s fantasies and that junkie personality. If we had organized an intervention, we may have saved him, but unfortunately that never happened, because most had already let him go...
Sad stuff
The guy makes it out of a drug addled past, starts a family, then revisits it again and dies. An avoidable tragedy, leaving behind kids who are likely to resent their fate. I hope they make it out of the hole he dug.
I knew 2 people who became addicted to opiates from prescription meds from injuries - one back injury from construction work, and one shattered leg from a pickup truck running over him on a bicycle. Both were cut off by their doctor (it's the law now), both started using street opiates, both died from fentanyl.
They were just 2 of thousands of people in Canada who turned into dead junkies from prescription opiates from injuries. Thousands. This shit has to stop!
fentanyl is a nightmare
my doctor wasnted to have me on it fro pain from my back and kneesd and latterly my shoulders.
I refused point blank and that's when i registered with the medical cannabis clinics.
Fentanyl is a fucking scourge which if you are into buying class a drugs from randoms, you'll be taking it without knowing in all probability. E in pill form can be cut with at and i have heard of amphetamines , ketamine and all sorts being cut with this crap. If i get class a stuff i get it from folks i know not to be cunty and MDMA, acid and such can be gotton very pure so little bits till you get to what you want.....(ie how out yer tits you want to get)
