ZEN FOR NOTHING tells of the experiences of actress and dancer Sabine Timoteo from Switzerland as a "Zen novice" in Antaiji in Autumn, Winter and Spring. Timoteo retreats to a small Zen monastery to get back in touch with her present.
It is a Swiss-German documentary by Werner Penzel from 2016. The film premiered at the 51st Solothurn Film Festival and won the Bern Film Prize in the Documentary category after having been nominated for a Viktor at the 31st Munich International Documentary Festival. From June 2, 2016, it was shown in German and Swiss cinemas.
