the three Israeli teenagers and Gas

was it Hamas.. or was it Israeli criminals.......
no evidence EVER emerged but a leaked audio of the call to their version of 999(911 to you yankees :P)
it appears HEBREW was spoken by the hostage takers
also we have that Gas...
ok debate this and remember folks.. hasbara and bullshit tabloid style claims are easily refuted

Gas? Yawn...

Let's bring in some common sense for a change:

The idiotic "Gaza war was for natural gas" meme (updated)

I am amazed at how many articles have been written in the past month with the same stupid theme, that the Gaza war is really about Israel's desire for natural gas off the Gaza coast.

Counterpunch. Daily Sabah. Middle East Monitor. The Guardian.

The meme goes like this: Israel has always hungered after the gas that BP is said to have found off of Gaza's coast in 2000. But it doesn't want Hamas to get hold of it because it will be used to fund terror, and also because Israel needs the gas badly. So Israel has been trying to negotiate with the PA to get the rights to the gas, and it tries to destroy Hamas every few years to take it out of the game.

A couple of these articles are savvy enough to note that since 2000, Israel has made some major gas discoveries as well. But, we are told, those will not be commercially available until 2017 or 2020 (depending on the article) and Israel wants the Gaza gas now.

OK, how stupid is this?

First of all, the Gaza gas is much further away from being commercially available than the Leviathan and Tamar gas fields that are within Israeli territorial waters according to everyone (except the people writing these articles who claim they are disputed, which is wrong.)

Secondly, the Tamar field is already pumping gas today.

Thirdly, while these articles breathlessly tell us that the Gaza fields hold 1.4 trillion cubic feet of gas, they don't mention the size of the Israeli fields:

• Tamar - proven reserves of 7.9 trillion cubic feet, and 3 trillion more in probable reserves.
• Leviathan - 16 trillion cubic feet.
• Sarah and Myra - a 54% probability of 6.5 trillion cubic feet

The Gaza gas field is small potatoes compared to existing Israeli fields, very far from ever being commercialized, and subject to attack by terrorist rockets. Why would Israel wage a war under those circumstances?

Ah, but if you think of the stereotype of the greedy Jew, then it all starts to make sense...

UPDATE: The estimated value of the Gaza gas field is about $4 billion. Protective Edge has cost the Israeli economy about $3.6 billion; this is not counting Pillar of Defense and Cast Lead.

Those greedy Jews aren't very good at math, are they?

And to keep you up to date what's going on outside of the Israel hating websites and Youtube channels:

In first, Hamas official takes credit for kidnap and murder of Israeli teens

Top Hamas sheikh admits to June kidnapping of Israeli teens

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas Blames Hamas for Delaying Ceasefire and for Lying about Kidnapped Israeli Teens (at 04:50)

did you watch the video???

did you watch the video???
didn't it mention the fact BP initially negotiated with Arafat however israel "took over" after Arafat's death?
Also, in terms of "viability".. You can bet your anus that the tech exists to extract it cheaply... the tech for that very technique "horizontal drilling2 was pioneered and perfected in the North Sea. a fine example of Scots engineering at work.
I WILL again look into the kidnapping issue however i do take whqat you say on Israeli matters with a pinch of salt.
When it comes to the shoah .. i will debate with you against those who would deny history and what happened but with this zionist shit... i will check, double check and triple check everything said as the house of cards presented by israel could never, will never EVER justify what they have done....
And if you or newsthet or bland come out with the "israeli's want peace" and are "peaceful people"
i refer you to the link below as well as other evidence to the contrary

EDIT to add
in L'esprit de l'escalier this floated into my brain as i stepped away from the machine......
protective edge "only" cost 3.6 BILLION........ ONLY.... that little admittance shows the horrific scale of the slaughter Israel has been up to.
And you consider it not a lot?...... well it's one years worth of money from the US...
however your belligerence about that number... compared to the 4 billions.. by your estimate, the gas is worth....
TBH.. 3.6 billions worth of ordnance is a FUCKLOAD of money by anyone's standards.
also are you saying that the dispute is about the Gaza field? and that you reckon it belongs to Israel???
then we have this.... an older article yet very relevant.

Yesterday, Israeli defence minister and former Israeli Defence Force (IDF) chief of staff Moshe Ya'alon announced that Operation Protective Edge marks the beginning of a protracted assault on Hamas. The operation "won't end in just a few days," he said, adding that "we are preparing to expand the operation by all means standing at our disposal so as to continue striking Hamas."

This morning, he said:

"We continue with strikes that draw a very heavy price from Hamas. We are destroying weapons, terror infrastructures, command and control systems, Hamas institutions, regime buildings, the houses of terrorists, and killing terrorists of various ranks of command… The campaign against Hamas will expand in the coming days, and the price the organization will pay will be very heavy."

But in 2007, a year before Operation Cast Lead, Ya'alon's concerns focused on the 1.4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas discovered in 2000 off the Gaza coast, valued at $4 billion. Ya'alon dismissed the notion that "Gaza gas can be a key driver of an economically more viable Palestinian state" as "misguided." The problem, he said, is that:

"Proceeds of a Palestinian gas sale to Israel would likely not trickle down to help an impoverished Palestinian public. Rather, based on Israel's past experience, the proceeds will likely serve to fund further terror attacks against Israel…

A gas transaction with the Palestinian Authority [PA] will, by definition, involve Hamas. Hamas will either benefit from the royalties or it will sabotage the project and launch attacks against Fatah, the gas installations, Israel – or all three… It is clear that without an overall military operation to uproot Hamas control of Gaza, no drilling work can take place without the consent of the radical Islamic movement."

In other words.. "naah naah naah.. you can't have it and you can't play..."
and it's a fuck you at the people who would have schools, hospitals etc.. you know .. ones that wewren't bombed to dust by israel.
but no.. that's off the cards.. god forbid they have anything resembling a decent infrastructure now the IDF has bombed the shit out of it and they have to be shunted off to the Sinai .....
