Jews have a word for what DeBeers has done in this case - chutzpah.
Talking heads from DeBeers, along with other boot lickers and apologists for blatant theft of the peoples' resources, will claim that mining isn't viable if miners have to pay royalties on what they produce because of the high initial cost of developing mines. Of course they also fail to point out that it would be a simple matter of allowing companies to defer, not avoid, paying royalties.
The people responsible for this need to be exposed, shamed, fired, prosecuted and jailed. DeBeers needs to pay up or GTFO of Ontario.
