BRand from Bristol? hardly he's a Grays Essex guy .. which as you know is nowhere near Bristol geographically or accent.

No, Andrew Gold from Bristol. I've listened to ~ 10 hours of Gold, and find his poshness level seems to vary, as though he learned posh in adulthood. Annoying IMO...

Bear in mind the ConCen forum was I'd suggest pretty much way ahead on the discussion of this wider theme... certainly way ahead of the idiotic, repatative chat we see in web-wide comments etc these days [daze?!].

Also in answer to the posh accent becoming posher. apparently he used to be embarrassed about his posh accent so tried to "geezer" it up a bit. but became less bothered after getting into Brand. he explains it in one of the videos

Bristolian accents are actually fairly hard to discern - even for fellow nationalities... it can get mixed up with
- Cornwall
- Norfolk
...accents... all pretty close.
they aren't close to people with ears that listen.
#Mistaking a Watford accent for Bath area is very odd to me tbh.
norfolk is different to the cornwall/west country.
There's even a difference between Wolverhampton and Birmingham and they're quite close. Catholic Belfast accents differ from Protestant to those that listen.... maybe i just naturally notice this more than others but for the life of me i don't get a Watford guy being mistaken for a West country guy. they are very different accents.
Now I am sure i have the right person.. are YOIU sure it's not because he's Jewish? due to your perpetual snidey comments on Jews in general????
