Michael Moore presents Planet of the Humans, a documentary that dares to say what no one else will this Earth Day — that we are losing the battle to stop climate change on planet earth because we are following leaders who have taken us down the wrong road — selling out the green movement to wealthy interests and corporate America. This film is the wake-up call to the reality we are afraid to face: that in the midst of a human-caused extinction event, the environmental movement’s answer is to push for techno-fixes and band-aids. It's too little, too late.

Removed from the debate is the only thing that MIGHT save us: getting a grip on our out-of-control human presence and consumption. Why is this not THE issue? Because that would be bad for profits, bad for business. Have we environmentalists fallen for illusions, “green” illusions, that are anything but green, because we’re scared that this is the end—and we’ve pinned all our hopes on biomass, wind turbines, and electric cars?

No amount of batteries are going to save us, warns director Jeff Gibbs (lifelong environmentalist and co-producer of “Fahrenheit 9/11” and “Bowling for Columbine"). This urgent, must-see movie, a full-frontal assault on our sacred cows, is guaranteed to generate anger, debate, and, hopefully, a willingness to see our survival in a new way—before it’s too late.

Featuring: Al Gore, Bill McKibben, Richard Branson, Robert F Kennedy Jr., Michael Bloomberg, Van Jones, Vinod Khosla, Koch Brothers, Vandana Shiva, General Motors, 350.org, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sierra Club, the Union of Concerned Scientists, Nature Conservancy, Elon Musk, Tesla.

Music by: Radiohead, King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Blank & Jones, If These Trees Could Talk, Valentina Lisitsa, Culprit 1, Patrick O’hearn, The Torquays, Nigel Stanford, and many more.

"...getting a grip on our out-of-control human presence and consumption."

Allow us the access to Free Energy technology and all this mess vanishes in one generation.

The problem is not to much people... it is the 0.001% do not want us free of the control via scarcity !

“Allow us the access to...”? It seems you, too, are intent on surrendering your personal freedom to some nefarious “other”. Let me ask you a question instead:
what stops you? what is stopping you from achieving your goals?
isn’t the answer not the 1% but, in fact, you? your own mind?

there is a line I come back to fro a 1950s play that goes roughly like this:

life is a banquet but most poor suckers think they are starving.

the problem as I set it is the mental blinders you so happily don. turn ‘em off, bro.
yes, there are rich people, I give you that. but “allow us”? never!
what stops *you*?

and as for a mess disappearing in one generation...hogwash!
god bless this mess for mess is all we know. life is messy, always was, always will be.

/end sermon

I have not seen this all the way through yet, but judging by its YouTube comments it is a somewhat bleak outlook on our current geopolitical situation/s. And it was produced before the coronavirus outbreak! I would love to believe there are free energy technologies in existence, at least theoretically, that can help change things in a dramatic way. We will have to see...

very bleak indeed.
I remember watching an episode of Penn and Teller's Bullsh!t about recycling that showed that recycling was a bit of a scam.
This is kinda like that but on a vast scale .
Wee Greta will be rocking in a corner mumbling to herself

Penn and Teller's episode on vaccines is enlightening. With zero evidence, they label anyone who's slightly sceptical of vaccine safety as anti science flat earther retards.

just because they don't agree with you on all points doesn't render all their stuff invalid.
Much the same way i think Chris White is spot on with his debunks.
He loses me totally when he spouts of about religion..

Basically, I knew enough about vaccines to know Penn & Teller were bullshitting, for money.

But on other subjects - I don't know enough to tell, I just know they bullshit for money.

Compare that to someone like Jon Rappoport who just tells the fucking truth as best he can.

what they pointed out was a simple thing.
recycling is bullshit and it's bullshit because....
recycling uses more resources than making from scratch for most things.
which is to say it's got a bigger carbon footprint so by the green crews own rules recycling should actually be bad
it adds many more stages to the process of making your goods and creates some fuckish byproducts.

As for P&T, i find them entertaining thought to be honest Penn just loves the sound of his own voice.
Bullshit was entertaining and served as a good start off point on some stuff and it gave me a few chuckles along the way.
they didn't get everything right but they certainly didn't get everything wrong.
As I said , a good starting point and fairly entertaining at the time.
I can't be arsed listening to Penn's podcasts though .

But imagine having so little integrity, you were willing to ignore hundreds of thousands of claims of vaccine injury, for a few dollars. I couldn't live with that on my conscience.

"CENSORSHIP DAY 8: STILL BANNED. Our film, “Planet of the Humans,” is still blocked on YouTube by political opponents of the movie who don’t want any more people seeing this documentary (we already had a mind-blowing 8 million views when they got the screen to go black). An outside group (not YouTube) says they found 4 seconds out of the film’s 6,000 seconds which “violates the copyright laws” (they don’t). We won’t let them use these 4 seconds to keep the public from seeing our film. YouTube is working with us to get “Planet of the Humans” back up. For now, still dark."

it's pretty shocking shit really.

Michael Moore's newest message:

"We are back up on YouTube after 12 days of being shut down by an outside attack using the copyright law to silence us and not let you see “Planet of the Humans”. Now you can watch the film they don’t want you to see. FOR FREE. The authoritarian state has its “liberal allies.” Big Money has co-opted parts of the environmental movement. So many sell-outs pretending they’re saving Planet Earth. You know why the climate crisis has gotten worse? Our “green” leaders got fooled, drank the Kool-Aid, took corporate money, took government money, took foundation money, then put all their (organic) eggs in one eco-industrial, green-capitalist basket. THIS is the movie they told you YOU MUST NOT SEE! Really? Why so hot and bothered over one little movie? “It must be buried!”, one of them said. Whoa. Liberal nazis? Well, we followed the money. And we exposed them. Their only retort was to lie and try to smear the film. What they’ve done is to stupidly try to censor it and ban it — which now means millions more will see it. That’s how dumb they are — and if you really need any more proof why we are losing the climate crisis battle, it’s ‘cause of these knuckleheads who couldn’t figure out how to kill a 98-minute movie made by a first-time filmmaker (and lifelong environmentalist) who was 65-years old! Please go to my YouTube channel and watch “Planet of the Humans” for free. Then let’s go all-in to save our precious Earth."
