I apparently am a stupid idiot when it comes to torrenting, and uploading and seeding things so it's there for peers to download. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I need help please to understand why:
I can't upload data for the files that I have fully downloaded on my computer, in the same place, I haven't moved them, to create torrents. Why is that happening when I have the data already in the torrent?
I have left the program open. I don't know how to force seeds to download.
Maybe I should just leave, and the torrents that aren't seeding at all to be deleted, until I can figure out how to hell to seed these freaking torrents and have fully uploaded data. I don't get wtf I am getting wrong.
Thank you,
Lisa
What's your upload bandwidth?
Make sure you have bittorrent client settings configured to seed many torrents. Most clients limit how many you can seed at once, the bandwidth, how many connected peers, etc.
If you concentrate on picking a good client and getting to know that, you'll have much better understanding of bittorrent in general.
Windows 10 64 bit.
Maximum upload rate in bittorrent (which is the only client I have installed), I have it set to 0. Previously it was at 100.

What is the upload bandwidth of your internet connection? Unless it's quite large, it's only feasible to seed ~ 3 new torrents at a time. It's also important to set your max download and upload speeds to no more than 90% of your total.
Ok I'm using qbittorent only now. I only have "CA, Today You Became An Official Medical Tyranny State" as the ONLY torrent running. It says it's "stalled". I have 6 peers currently.
https://www.speedtest.net says my upload speed 7.25 mbps
Download 31.40 mbps
Global Rate Limits set as:
Upload 600 kbps
Download 2000 kbps
Also I have McAfee running and I use a VPN. Is that an issue?
Thanks
Lisa
If you have that torrent open in qBittorrent, how complete does it say it is? If it doesn't say 100% then you're not seeding. You need to stop the torrent, tell qBittorrent where your copy of the data is on your hard disk so it can recheck it for completeness, then restart it.
Some VPNs are more torrent friendly than others. They might cause problems with peers connecting, but it sounds like you're OK there. If you see peers constantly connecting/disconnecting that could be a sign.
Your pipe is wide enough to set those max limits to 10x what you have now: 20000 and 6000. Set encryption to always on just if your ISP is throttling torrents.
Ok thanks, I think I have it now. I'm downloading the "CA, Today You Became An Official Medical Tyranny State - SB 276, SB 714 Signed Into Law" torrent on Bittorrent. I think I was having the issue was as you said, making sure the copy matched where I said it was before.
I will let you know if anything changes.

The torrent you refer to is still seedless, so somethoiing is not right.
If you upload a torrent to ConCen, then it's assumed you already have a complete copy. Is this not true with your torrents? Who created the original torrent file?
I created the original file, and I have the original mp4 file downloaded on my computer. I changed the location, and I thought I changed the location of this in the torrent as well. How do I change the location of the file in the torrent? Thanks Lisa
If you are referring to the directory structure of the files in the torrent, you can't change them without recreating the torrent. But you don't need to do that anyway.
All you need to do is what I explained: in qBittorrent, stop the torrent, tell it where to save the contents (where you have the original contents), then restart it. qBittorrent will recheck the contents on your disk with what's in the torrent, and let you know how much has been downloaded, which in your case should be 100%. If not, you're not pointing to the proper directory.
I did what you said and it's not doing ANYTHING. I stopped the torrent, told it where to save the contents and restarted it.
I double checked I had the right file in the right directory.
I set the location as the right directory and the destination folder is the right directory.
It's not seeding. Not doing anything.
What percentage does qBittorrent say is download? Check that the mp4 can play from beginning to end. It may have been overwritten with an incomplete copy.
Ok now it's downloaded everything and says it's "Seeding". Though in bittorrent it's "Seeding" but Red.
In Qbittorrent it's 0(1) for seeds and 0(1) for peers.
yes it can play from beginning to end.
Thanks
Lisa
3 peers stuck @ 87.2%

How about we delete this torrent? I have an idea....
Thanks
Lisa
I unpublished it.
You have given us many important uploads and even though I don't agree with much of the content, I am grateful for information on so many things. I try to "chew the chicken and spit out the bones" as I read. In any case, don't leave us - your content is worthy and your efforts appreciated. You have an impressive array of subjects to share. Thank you.
BTW to all: Many of my downloads take a week or more to complete. Most of the time they are worth waiting for. The word is gratitude, folks - - GRATITUDE!
Thank you very much for your kind words rab. It really is VERY appreciated. I guess I am appreciating more how many aspects to torrenting there is. It has been a very trying personal week for me. I am only trying to seed the "CA, Today You Became An Official Medical Tyranny State" file. I don't have any other files on qbittorrent at all now. It says it's stalled. UGH lol even though I have 6 or so peers.
Lisa
do you have your router/modem configured properly? Are the correct ports forward?
