Wow. I just finished
Wow. I just finished watching this - I highly recommend it. In fact, it might just win best documentary at the Oscars.
But on the other hand, there are 2 Covid-related docs on their list too, so you never know...
I haven't watched this yet,
I haven't watched this yet, but I enjoyed this book about it: "thirteen lessons that saved thirteen lives"

Just in case of interest

a dramatized version of it here:

any thoughts on which is best?
or what order they are best watched?
I've been to Chiang Rai, and watched the whole thing on TV with my friend from Thailand who is married to a Thai person, it was very emotional!!!
All these movies seem to have come out quite quietly, we haven't looked at any of them.
Hollywood
I do know a Hollywood movie and another movie on the story just came out yesterday. 13 Lives and Cave Rescue. I downloaded the Hollywood version recently and planned on watching it this weekend.
I did quite like the documentary that was nominated for an Oscar. I haven't seen the other one yet, but the one in this torrent captured the entire event as it unfolded and was definitely emotional.

Having checked these out, I recommend the doc that TheCorsair uploaded before. I watched the movie and it was basically the same, though why would anybody want to watch the re-enactment of these events when you could see the real footage neatly arranged.
I checked out Thirteen Lives and, as far as I can tell, it is less a documentary and also more like a movie. Perhaps it is a better "movie", but for the story I'd stick with The Rescue.
So for the million dollar prize, here's my ordering:
1. The Rescue (documentary)
2. Thirteen Lessons that Saved Thirteen Lives (book)
3. Thirteen Lives (movie)
4. Cave Rescue (movie)
5 through 10: avoid caves that are about to flood wherever possible.
PS - What was Chiang Rai like? Chiang Mai is delightful, but I don't know the Rai
cheerio

Mega, your list seems about right, thanks. I can't read books due to a brain injury... it's been improving though.
Chiang Rai is OK. I've spent about 9 months in Chiang Mai, love it, though sadly the "pandemic" has forced all the restaurants etc that I liked to close. Chiang Rai is good for a few nights, the White Temple is cool. I went on a visa run.
